SAS avslutar sin trafik till Kina på grund av höga bränslekostnader på grund av omvägarna för att undvika Ryskt luftrum. Till grund är det också en kombination med en låg efterfrågan efter pandemin och svårigheten att konkurrera med de kinesiska flygbolagen. Bland annat slutade Virgin Atlantic nyligen flyga till Shanghai helt, samt British Airways som avslutar sin rutt till Peking. Även Lufthansa, Air France och KLM verkar ha avsikter att dra ner på sina flygningar till Kina.
SAS meddelar att ”Kina dock fortfarande är en viktig marknad för SAS och att dem aktivt kommer att följa situationen för att se om det finns framtida möjligheter att återupprätta sin närvaro i denna viktiga region”.
”We continually evaluate our route network to ensure we are optimizing resources and meeting demand. Due to current market conditions, including an unbalanced competitive landscape where Chinese carriers can fly over Russian airspace while European carriers cannot, we have made the difficult decision to suspend services to Shanghai. However, China remains a key market for SAS, and we will actively monitor the situation for future opportunities to restore our presence in this important region, while continuing to serve our customers through other destinations in Asia.”

3. Cancel your booking and get a refund
If you choose not to travel, you can cancel your booking and get a refund. You must contact SAS Customer Service if you decide not to travel. We will process your refund within seven days, for the part(s) of the journey not traveled. Please note that online cancellation and refund is not possible.
